Me and a friend made a set of buildings in order to cast them in plaster. We wanted to do this in order to make cheap, great looking buildings available to any one who wants them. we sell them at the price of making them. If You want a set of these let me know and we can have a look at what the price of postage would be. We charge $30 for the complete set of six building and four sets of stairs. the small outbuildings in the pictures didn't cast very well so if you want one of each then i´ll add it for free but you will have to replace the roof. I used a piece of card cut to shape. The models take paint very well and the plaster is of the same hardness as dental plaster and that is VERY hard. In order t make th models as modular as possible we made the stairs seperat. Every set comes with four stairs, two right ones and two left ones. You have to remove a small peice of the wall to make an entrance too the roof but that is very easily done with a file or a saw blade. I used the latter.

I built a game board for this guy but he didn't show any particular interest even though I built it for almost free. So a week ago I finished my last built terrain piece I had ready so I grabbed this one and started painting. Now its done I have decided not to sell it off at all and keep it. And I think it turned out really well! More will come.
I tried some faux marble effect on the twin tailed comet at the stairs. please let me know what You think about it.
As you might notice the usual black backdrop I use for my photos was a bit too small for this building. it is quite big but I like it.

Trying out a new tool offered a new and easier way to do building templates in a cad program. I no longer have to conseider the thickness of the material used, 5mm foam board. Tha speeds up the process and allows me to use any thickness when constructing. This building is inspired by the stepped gabels of my home towns medieval houses. The colour is also inspired by a local castle.
The grey stone foundations are carved out of insulation foam, easy-peasy!
I thought I ought to something fun with the large windows so I tried to do a bit of stained glass and I think they turned out quite nicely. It was rather cramped so it took a bit longer then if I hadn´t glued the two building together. It is always nice to know that you learn something new with every build.

I used stippling to achieve the effect on the walls. I quite like it and predict that you will see more of here.

I bought a new tool and constructed a model to try it out on. It is a rabbet cutter by FoamWerks. I cuts a rabbet on the edge of a piece of foambord and that makes building models a lot smoother. It will cover the foam edges on the corners and there bye minimize the amount of plaster work.
You can be the judge of how it went. It is painted by stippeling wich I prefer to use on plastered walls such as this. Enjoy!

For a friend’s birthday I made him a custom game board for Days of Wonders great game Small World. I made the four player map. I´m looking forward to having a game on this! Pictures speak a thousand words so here goes!

A while ago I previewed my WIP dungeon tiles. pictures can be found in this blog post after that post they sat on the proverbial shelf for some time collecting dust. last Christmas I bought myself a 24l compressor and an airbrush to add to my set of tools. a few days ago i finally pulled myself together and painted for a few hours and the results can be found below. the miniatures are from fantasy flights Mansions of Madness and were a delight to paint. I re-based them in order to be able to use them in any game. I have planned two more tiles to go with these four but they will have to wait until inspiration strikes.

Hi! As you probably have noticed i haven’t posted anything in more than four months. Why? I’ve been busy getting my exam but the main reason has been that I managed to lock myself out of my own blog. Apparently I’m not as tech-savvy as I like to think..
Have I done any hobby work in the missing four months? Oh, yes! I dived head first into e new scale, 20mm (1/72) and got myself a troop of us Marine Corps, some Fedayeen Saddam and Iraqi regulars, built a bunch of terrain to go with it in order to play the first scenario in road to Baghdad for force on force. I’ve completed my 4th panzer division for flames of war and even gotten a few games under my belt. I even managed to win one! My friend and opponent wrote a massive blog post on his blog, Anatolis Game Room Go read it!
I did as I always do when I gets sucked into a new scale/period/theme/army/game I went online and got inspired and that is always costly. The Germans where followed by mid war Russians and a absolutely huge horde of polish infantry. I’m awaiting some heavy French amour so we will have to wait and see where that will lead me..
And then there is the 28mm star wars project, the 28mm colonial marines vs. aliens..
